AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF STATE GENERAL FUNDS TO THE MISSISSIPPI POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE BOARD FOR THE SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE MISSISSIPPI RESIDENT TUITION ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM AND THE MISSISSIPPI EMINENT SCHOLARS GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1999.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums previously appropriated, the following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated to the Mississippi Postsecondary Education Financial Assistance Board, for the support and maintenance of the Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Grant Program and the Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant Program, for the fiscal year ending

June 30, 1999 $ 2,100,000.00

SECTION 2. This additional appropriation is made for the purpose of fully funding grants to all students eligible to be recipients of the Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Grant Program and the Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant Program.

SECTION 3. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
